Dear Mr. Kelsey

I have collected autographs for over 20 years. When I was in college I started writing to celebrities and asking them what they would tell a class of elementary school students. Over the years I have gotten over 200 letter and signed pictures to my students. I think that by these very busy people taking the time to share their thoughts with students, it shows the power of education. I hope you enjoy my collection

President Jimmy Carter

This is one of my absolute favorite political letters. Jimmy Carter is an amazing man. He has accomplished so much and worked so hard to help so many people. He has really done some amazing things after he was president. He is also a great author. If you ever have a chance to read one of his books, do it. You will enjoy it. I have his newest Our Endangered Values on my shelf at home waiting to be read. An interesting note about this letter, the signature is proably real and it is his full name which he doesn't sign very often. He typically just signs J Carter. The picture is most likely a preprinted autograph. How amazing is it that a former President of the United States would take the time to write a letter to a class of 5th graders!?! Once again, it shows how important education is.
